What can I do with Functional Skills ICT?

Functional Skills ICT Level 2 courses give you a practical grounding in how to apply ICT skills to everyday situations.

You will learn problem solving, using real-life contexts to allow you to apply your ICT skills in a variety of situations. For example, a self-employed boiler engineer will be able to set up a database of customers, with names, addresses and contact details, so that a mailing list can be created to remind clients when their service is due.

Previous Knowledge Required

There are no previous entry requirements for this course, however students are expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy. 

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 24 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

Enrolment Fees

Our Enrolment fee for this course is noted at the top of this page where you can enrol directly onto the course.  This fee includes access to your course including tutor support for 2 years.

Our enrolment fee includes:

  • All study materials covering the full specification.
  • Full support where you can also message your tutor as many times as you need to.
  • Access to our online Library with a full range of eBooks.
  • Help completing university applications including UCAS and The Common Application.
  • Reference and predicted grade for University.
  • Assignment marking and feedback

  • Eligibility for a Totum Card if you reside within the UK
  • Fast Track A Level if required and flexible learning from home 24/7.

The only other fee you will need to pay is for your exams which is due approximately six months prior and this will be paid directly to the exam centre.

Assessments

In order to complete the Functional Skills ICT Level 2 qualification, you must take one examination either online or at one of our approved centres. When you are “Exam Ready” your tutor will provide you with details of online exams or your nearest centre.

Online Exams

If you opt for our online exam, it will cost £145.00.  This fee is separate to your course enrolment fee and will not need to be paid until you are ready to sit your exam.

Please note: that you will not be able to book your exams until your tutor has advised that you are ready, as this is not permitted by our exam centres. Our aim is to ensure that you fully understand the functional skills subject you are studying and pass your exam.

FAQs

You can enrol online right now by Card or PayPal (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and American Express). Alternatively, we also accept BACS transfer or we can send you a payment link.

With our courses, we have learners from all over the world enrolled.  Therefore, if we restricted your learning to certain times, not everyone would be available.  All our courses are accessible 24/7 via our online secure portal.  Any videos on your portal would be pre-recorded meaning you can work through your course at your own pace.

The flexibility of Functional Skills is why it is so popular. They are designed to get you a Level 2 qualification that many universities and employers require quickly. The exams are available monthly, both online or via a local exam centre. So in theory, you could pass your Functional Skills in a matter of weeks, and gain that Level 2 qualification. 

Our Functional Skills courses are flexible. We understand that circumstances change and sometimes things can take a little longer. If you go over the 12 month period then talk to us. We are more than happy to discuss these options with you. 

In order to gain a qualification that is accepted universally, in schools, colleges, universities and in the workplace, you have to take an examination. We know that exams are not always a favourite for some people, so we have tried to make them as hassle free as possible by offering online remote exams for our Functional Skills courses. You can sit them at home, in familiar settings, without the hassle of having to find an exam centre to make it as hassle free as possible. 

Not only that, but if you choose the online remote exams, then should you not pass first time around, then a free resit is included. 

Your tutor will go through your options with you once you are ready. When you are ready, then you will need to pay for your exam fees. 

Once you are booked in, there is typically a 2-4 week wait before sitting the exam, plenty of time to get in some extra revision. 

We can help you find a local exam centre, or we can offer you our online remotely invigilated exams so that you can take them from home.

You may be able to find cheaper exam centres out there should you look around. We can help you with a list of centres in the UK. All of the exam centres set their own fees, so we can’t give you exact figures, but typically they range from £80-£200 per exam.
