Course Information

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a curriculum framework that has been compulsory in all child care settings in the UK since 2008 as stipulated by the Child Care Act 2006.

Early Years Level 4 helps you to develop a knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. It will equip you with the necessary skills to manage all aspects of a child’s learning and development from birth to the age of 5. You will also equip yourself with an understanding of health and safety in a childcare setting and gain leadership skills.

This course is aimed at those wishing to set up their Child Care business, and for those wishing to work in a supervisory or management-level position in the Early Years environment.

What can you do with Early Years Level 4?

You could look for work in a nursery or set up your own child care business.

As an experienced nursery worker you could specialise in working with children with learning difficulties, physical difficulties or mental health problems.

You could also progress to room leader, senior nursery worker or centre manager.

You could also study towards a higher education qualification in early years or child development. You could then move into management or early years teaching.

Previous Knowledge Required

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.
