Course Information

The Distance Learning Zoology Level 3 course is a fully comprehensive course as it provides you with an understanding of the theories regarding the origins of life, explains the nature and function of cells and explores the taxonomic classification system so that you will be able to identify and group species.

What can you do with Zoology Level 3

You could work in small or large zoos and safari parks owned privately or by charities. You could work with mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish.

You could also work in sea zoos and aquariums.

In larger zoos, you could progress with further training to jobs such as Zookeeper, or team leader. With experience and a degree, you could become a curator.

You could also move into education or conservation research.

Previous Knowledge Required

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

  • Biology of fishes
  • Reptiles and amphibians
  • Requirements for a species to be classified as a bird
  • Mammal group
  • Skeletal systems in the natural world
  • Animal’s internal environment
  • Methods of digestion and nutrition in organisms

Assessments

You must successfully complete a series of assignments. Once all assignments and activities have been completed satisfactorily, you will then be awarded your certificate.  The good news is, there is no final exam.

Support

You will have dedicated Tutor Support for 12 months. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. You must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.

You will be provided with the telephone number for your dedicated Student Support Team who will be available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. Course Outcome

If we have given you the option of “online” or “paper” at the top of the page next to the enrolment fee, you will be able to choose one or the other.  If no option is available, it means that the course offered is online only.
