Best Practices for Childminders

Ensuring Child Safety

Having young and multiple children means you are not able to keep an eye on each individual all at once.  Safety is top priority and includes locking away hazardous materials, maintaining safe sleep practices, following safeguarding procedures, and keeping any records of incidents or concerns.

Providing Quality Childcare at Home

For the children, you want to ensure that they thrive within your care.  Therefore, creating a nurturing, homely atmosphere with stimulating activities is key. You will need to meet EYFS learning outcomes and communicate any concerns with parents.  You will also be encouraging independence and social skills.

Becoming a Childminder

Becoming a childminder within England is easier than you think.  With the right amount of training and understanding how to run your own business, you will hopefully thrive.  If you love children and feel you can help them within their early years, this would be a rewarding role along with a very decent salary.
