Course Information

This IGCSE Science (double award) CAIE Course will give you the opportunity to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics within a cross-referenced, scientifically coherent syllabus. It is a double award qualification, earning two grades. Students gain an understanding of the basic principles of each subject through a mix of theoretical and practical studies, while also developing an understanding of the scientific skills essential for further study.

You learn how science is studied and practised, and will become aware that the results of scientific research can have both good and bad effects on individuals, communities and the environment. As well as focusing on the individual sciences, the syllabus helps students to understand the technological world in which they live, and take an informed interest in science and scientific developments. Grades 9-1 are available.

With our IGCSEs, they are usually studied over one year, however if you would prefer to take your IGCSE course over two years, we will provide an additional year free of charge. Please let us know if you require an extension on your enrolment form.

Previous Knowledge Required

There are no previous entry requirements for this course, however students are expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

Assessment

Students will be required to arrange and pay for their examinations / practicals at a CAIE approved centre. We can provide an extensive list of these centres for you.

IGCSE Exams
There are three exams for the full IGCSE qualificaiton. The length of each exam is as follows:

Paper 2- 45 min
Paper 4 - 2 hour
Paper 6 - 1 hour 30 min
