This IGCSE German CAIE Course will develop students who are learning German as a foreign language. The aim is to develop an ability to use the language effectively for practical communication.
The course is based on the linked language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, and these are built on as students progress through their studies.
The syllabus also aims to offer insights into the culture of countries where German is spoken, thus encouraging positive attitudes towards language learning and towards speakers of other languages.
The combination of knowledge and skills in Cambridge IGCSE (9–1) foreign language syllabuses gives learners a solid foundation for further study. Candidates who achieve grades 4 to 9 are well prepared to follow a wide range of courses including Cambridge International AS & A Level in the same language.
Cambridge IGCSEs are accepted by leading Universities and employers around the works as evidence of academic achievement.
Many Universities require a combination of AS & A’ Levels and IGCSEs or equivalent to meet their entry requirements.
There are no previous entry requirements for this course, however students are expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.
You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 24 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
The IGCSE German Online Course has five modules you will need to cover.
Students will be required to arrange and pay for their examinations / practicals at a CAIE approved centre. We can provide an extensive list of these centres for you.
IGCSE Exams
There are four exams for the full IGCSE qualification. The length of each exam is as follows:
Paper 1 – 50 min (approx)
Paper 2 – 1 hour
Paper 3 – 10 min (approx)
Paper 4 – 1 hour
