Course Information

This IGCSE French CIE Course will develop students who are learning French as a foreign language. The aim is to develop an ability to use the language effectively for practical communication. The course is based on the linked language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, and these are built on as students progress through their studies.

The syllabus also aims to offer insights into the culture of countries where French is spoken, thus encouraging positive attitudes towards language learning and towards speakers of other languages. Grades 9-1 are available.

With our IGCSEs, they are usually studied over one year, however if you would prefer to take your IGCSE course over two years, we will provide an additional year free of charge. Please let us know if you require an extension on your enrolment form.

FAQs

The combination of knowledge and skills in Cambridge IGCSE (9–1) foreign language syllabuses gives learners a solid foundation for further study. Candidates who achieve grades 4 to 9 are well prepared to follow a wide range of courses including Cambridge International AS & A Level in the same language.

Cambridge IGCSEs are accepted by leading Universities and employers around the works as evidence of academic achievement. Many Universities require a combination of AS & A' Levels and IGCSEs or equivalent to meet their entry requirements.

Before you start your tutor will contact you to welcome you and, if you’re new to Learn Now, help you understand what study will be like. They’ll also clarify how and when they can be contacted, and how quickly they will respond to you.

Once you’ve started your tutor will mark and provide feedback on your assignments and support your progress throughout the course.

Learners must make sure that the centre they choose is able to make appropriate arrangements to conduct and assess the Speaking test (paper 3), and submit the required sample and paperwork to Cambridge for External moderation.

The IGCSE is an international alternative to the GCSE and as the subjects are normally exam based only, make them ideal for students who are unable to attend a local school or college.

IGCSEs are internationally recognised and as well as being available in the UK, are also available worldwide. They are recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and are an international passport to progression and success.

It all depends on when you enrol. You will need to check the exam dates for your IGCSE subject and the number of guided learning hours to ensure that you can achieve your goals.
