IGCSE English as a Second Language (ESL) will help you understand and communicate in a range of situations in English.
English has emerged as a widely spoken language worldwide. In a globalised world, it has become a universal language of communication. English as a Second Language (ESL) is essential today, where individuals, organisations, and nations must interact across borders to achieve their goals.
ESL has become a tool for enabling communication and bridging the gap between different cultures and societies. It has empowered communication in a globalised world and has become a crucial element in the workforce, providing many benefits of learning it.
ESL has numerous benefits for non-native speakers and the wider community. For non-native speakers, learning ESL can improve their communication skills and increase their chances of employment. It also helps them integrate better into a foreign culture and society.
ESL creates a more diverse and inclusive social environment for the wider community, promoting tolerance and cross-cultural understanding. Having a large pool of ESL speakers can also help in international business dealings and diplomatic relations.

Guided Learning Hours
Cambridge IGCSEs are designed based on students having about 130 guided learning hours for each subject during the course, but this is for guidance only. The number of hours a learner needs to achieve the qualification may vary depending on their previous experience of the subject.
Exams
Depending on when you are sitting your exams, we would normally recommend that they are booked at least 5-6 months prior to when they are taking place. This helps prevent you from paying late deadline fees and also enables you to secure a place.
Students can enter in the June and November exam series. Timetables and centres can be accessed through your portal.
Retakes
Candidates can retake the whole qualification as many times as they want to. This is a linear qualification so candidates cannot re-sit individual components.

This means there is no need to carry out science practical exams or find a school that will mark and authenticate your coursework.
IGCSEs are internationally recognised and as well as being available in the UK, are also available worldwide. They are recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and are an international passport to progression and success.
We want exams to be as competitively priced for our learners as possible and therefore that is why we direct them to the examination centres rather than charge upfront fees.
