If you would like to improve your prospects of securing employment within a nursery setting, the CACHE Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education Course is the perfect qualification to complete.

You will receive a nationally recognised qualification with CACHE which will also award up to 28 UCAS points for entry to University.

On completion of this course you will be able to progress onto the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce Early Years Educator Course.

Early years practitioners are specialists who look after the social and educational development of babies and young children up to the age of five years old.

You will normally be required to read stories, help children learn number skills, observe children’s progress and keep records to share with parents. You will also need to ensure children are safe at all times and report any concerns.

This course will improve your prospects of securing employment within a nursery setting.

This course will provide you with UCAS points which would allow you to go onto further study at University.

Previous Knowledge Required

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

Syllabus

The syllabus consists of two modules which are as follows:

  • Biological and psychological development of children from birth to seven years
  • Roles of an early years practitioner
  • Active steps an early years practitioner take
  • Frameworks that can be applied to young children’s development
  • Setting appropriate milestones for development
  • Physical and emotional needs of young children
  • Dietary and nutritional requirements
  • Health and safety
  • Emotional needs during stressful or transitional moments
  • The need for regular exercise

Assessments

You must successfully complete a series of assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed and you have met the required outcomes, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion of this course, you will achieve an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education.
