Have you always wanted to learn photography whether it is to better your current skills or completely learn from scratch?

Here we have designed a course to help you develop advanced photography knowledge and skills, specialise in an area of photography which interests you the most and understand the industry that you will be working within.

Previous Knowledge Required

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

Syllabus

The course is assessed via a portfolio of evidence which will strengthen your learning as it allows time for reflection as you gather your evidence. Upon completion of this qualification, you will receive a Level 3 Certificate in Photography.

Assessments

You must successfully complete a series of assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed and you have met the required outcomes, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.

Course Outcome

At the end of this course successful learners will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Abstract Education and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all of the units you have completed as part of your course).

The Level 3 Photography Course has been benchmarked at a level 3 which would give you some indication as to the difficulty of this course. I.e., GCSE would be equivalent to Level 2 and A’ Level would be equivalent to Level 3.

Will I need to pay anything else?

You should have access to a camera where you are able to take pictures in a manual settings mode. You can use a smartphone, providing you have an app that allows you to take manual control of the camera’s settings.  In order to edit your photos, it also helps to have access to either Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop or Capture One.  Any videos will be shown using Adobe Lightroom.

You will have no other fees to pay with this course. The course enrolment fee includes access to support, course materials, certification and registration with the awarding body.

If we have given you the option of “online” or “paper” at the top of the page next to the enrolment fee, you will be able to choose one or the other.  If no option is available, it means that the course offered is online only.

With our courses, we have learners from all over the world enrolled.  Therefore, if we restricted your learning to certain times, not everyone would be available.  All our courses are accessible 24/7 via our online secure portal.  Any videos on your portal would be pre-recorded meaning you can work through your course at your own pace.

We understand that circumstances change and sometimes things can take a little longer. If you go over the course period then talk to us. We can normally extend your support for a small additional fee.
