Would you like to learn how to produce a beautiful set of acrylic or gel nails and carve yourself a new career at the same time? Why not take a look at our Nail Technician Level 2 course, which will provide you with all the skills and knowledge needed to become a successful Mobile Nail Technician.
You don’t need any previous knowledge to start this course, as we’ll take you right back to basics, covering Health and Safety, Nail Anatomy, basic manicure, applying tips and so much more.
If you are currently working full-time, no need to worry because you are free to study in your own time at your own pace as we allow you 12 months to complete your course with unlimited Tutor support.
There are all different routes you can take on completion of this course including:
Work in a salon, at a health spa, on a cruise ship, from home or at a client’s home.
Manage a salon or start your own business.
Work with photographers, fashion designers or TV companies, preparing nails for photo shoots or fashion shows.
You could move into product sales, selling nail equipment and materials to salons and nail bars.
You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.
You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
For this syllabus, you will need to cover 10 units which are as follows:
You must successfully complete a series of assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed and you have met the required outcomes, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
You will have dedicated Tutor Support for 12 months. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. You must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.
You will be provided with the telephone number for your dedicated Student Support Team who will be available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
At the end of this course successful learners will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Abstract Education and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all of the units you have completed as part of your course).
The Level 2 Nail Technician course has been benchmarked at a level 2 which would give you some indication as to the difficulty of this course. I.e., GCSE would be equivalent to Level 2 and A’ Level would be equivalent to Level 3.
You will have no other fees to pay with this course. The course enrolment fee includes access to support, course materials, certification and registration with the awarding body.

If we have given you the option of “online” or “paper” at the top of the page next to the enrolment fee, you will be able to choose one or the other. If no option is available, it means that the course offered is online only.
With our courses, we have learners from all over the world enrolled. Therefore, if we restricted your learning to certain times, not everyone would be available. All our courses are accessible 24/7 via our online secure portal. Any videos on your portal would be pre-recorded meaning you can work through your course at your own pace.
We understand that circumstances change and sometimes things can take a little longer. If you go over the course period then talk to us. We can normally extend your support for a small additional fee.
You will have access to a dedicated personal tutor who will be there to help you through your assignments.

It all depends on the environment; however, you could be working within a nail salon, hair salon, spa, beauty salon or cruise liner. There are also other opportunities such as fashion shows, bridal and mobile.
The job role will help improve your social skills as you will be interacting with customers on a one-to-one basis. It could also be a flexible job role if you are looking for part-time rather than full-time hours.

You may one day aspire to become a business owner yourself and with this profession, there is no reason why you can’t! Even if you start small as a mobile technician, you may find that your client base grows quickly and you will require your very own salon!
If you are looking to work on a self-employed basis or run your own business, you will need public liability insurance.
Some insurers have a special policy for this type of sector where they will cover you for numerous incidents mitigating the risk to you. It is best to speak with the insurance company to see what they have available, and they will be able to advise on the best way forward.
