As a make-up artist your job would be to create an individual look for your clients. This could include natural looks through to more complicated looks and special effects. The work involves creating images and characters through the medium of make-up, hairstyles and prosthetics in accordance with a brief.

The Distance Learning Make-up Artist Level 3 course has been developed to help you gain the necessary skills to become a Make-up Artist, learning how to provide facial treatments, apply make-up and carry out eyebrow and eyelash treatments. You will also discover how to provide make-up treatments for beauty salons, weddings, fashion photography and theatre.
Most Make-up Artists work freelance for a number of clients which means you can work flexible hours whilst building your portfolio of clients and this will enable you to fit this lucrative career around your everyday life.
This course is flexible and you can study anytime, anywhere via our online Student Portal. You should allow approximately 80 hours for completion.
If you are considering becoming a make-up artist, you probably have a good selection of make-up to suit your skin type, already available.
However, if you are looking to put together your very own make-up kit, we do have professional student kits available at discounted rates. This kit includes all the essential items to launch your new career and enable you to work with clients. Your make-up artist professional kit also comes with a free bag to enable you to travel from one appointment to the next with ease.
You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.
You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
You must successfully complete a series of assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed and you have met the required outcomes, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
At the end of this course successful learners will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Abstract Education and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all of the units you have completed as part of your course).
The Level 3 Make-up Course has been benchmarked at a level 3 which would give you some indication as to the difficulty of this course. I.e., GCSE would be equivalent to Level 2 and A’ Level would be equivalent to Level 3.
You will have no other fees to pay with this course. The course enrolment fee includes access to support, course materials, certification and registration with the awarding body.
