This International A Level Further Mathematics Course with Cambridge develops and extends a set of transferable skills. These include the skill of working with mathematical information, as well as the ability to think logically and independently, consider accuracy, model situations mathematically, analyse results and reflect on findings.

Students can apply these skills across a wide range of subjects and these skills equip them well for progression to higher education or directly into employment. Some universities prefer applicants for degrees in mathematics and mathematical/scientific subjects to have an AS or A Level Further Mathematics or equivalent qualification.

This syllabus is intended for high ability learners who have achieved, or are likely to achieve, a high grade in the A Level Mathematics examination. Knowledge of the whole content of the Cambridge International A Level Mathematics syllabus is assumed. Learners will find that the additional time spent studying Further Mathematics will support their understanding of A Level Mathematics.

Please note: From 2020 Cambridge International AS Level Further Mathematics is available. The AS Level can be taken at the halfway point in an A Level or as a stand-alone qualification. The AS Level allows a choice of applied mathematics:

Further Pure Mathematics 1 and choose from either:

  • Further Probability & Statistics or
  • Further Mechanics

What can I do with an A Level in Further Mathematics?

Students in the past have progressed onto a degree in Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science.

Studying A’ Level Mathematics will enhance your chances of being accepted into University.

Previous Knowledge Required

There are no previous entry requirements for this course, however students are expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy. 

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 24 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

The International A Level in Further Mathematics is split into four components and all of these will need to be covered.

For the International AS Level in Further Mathematics, you will have a choice of two routes and therefore only two components will need to be covered.

By opting for our International A Level, you can study the course from anywhere and exam centres are located all over the world.  With our UK A Levels (AQA), you can study them from outside of the UK, however you would need to sit the actual exams for these within the UK.

You will be provided with eBooks for this course. If you want to purchase physical books in addition, then we can provide you with the book ISBN numbers.

The Guided learning hours for A Levels are as follows:-

AS Level: 180 hours

A Level:  360 hours

These figures are for guidance only. The number of hours needed to gain the qualification may vary depending on your previous experience of the subject.

Yes you will gain UCAS points and these depend on your final grade once you have completed your exams.

You will sit the same exam as thousands of students across the world in an exam centre, and achieve the same qualification as everyone else.

Provided you have completed enough work on the course within a reasonable amount of time, we will be able to provide a predicted grade / reference for university. 

Please provide at least 3 months notice for this, otherwise this will incur a small fee.
