Overview

The Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3 qualification aims to enable learners to understand the roles and responsibilities of those involved in supporting teaching and learning in schools, providing an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to do this effectively and in a self-directed way. It prepares students to support the Teacher delivering the curriculum within a school, as well as developing skills to help children and young people to develop self-esteem, independence and skills for learning. It seeks to further develop professional and technical skills and knowledge, and gain an understanding of the importance of positive relationships within a school.

This Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course will lead to a regulated qualification approved by Ofqual demonstrating to employers that you have the necessary skills to work within a school environment.

Please Note: a work placement of at least 50 hours is required to complete this option. This workplace MUST be in a school setting. This can either be a primary, secondary or special school, however you MUST also ensure that the pupils you work with are aged 5+ and are studying at Key Stage 1 or above.

  • Unit 2: Understand How to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Children and Young People
  • Unit 3: Support Children’s and Young People’s Health and Safety
  • Unit 4: Engage in Personal Development in Health, Social Care, or Children’s and Young People’s Settings
  • Unit 5: Support Learning Activities
  • Unit 6: Promote Children’s and Young People’s Positive Behaviour
  • Unit 7: Develop Professional Relationships with Children, Young People, and Adults
  • Unit 8: Promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Work with Children and Young People
  • Unit 9: Support Assessment for Learning
  • Unit 10: Communication and Professional Relationships with Children, Young People, and Adults
  • Unit 11: Schools as Organisations

You must successfully complete a series of assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed and you have met the required outcomes, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
