If you want to develop your knowledge of Child Care so that you can embark on a rewarding career or you are already working in a related field and want to improve your career prospects, then this is the course for you.
The Distance Learning Child Care course has been designed to enable you to strengthen and develop your knowledge and understanding of home-based childcare practices.
The topics you will cover in the Child Care Diploma course include: The introduction to childcare practice, childcare and child development (0-16), the childcare practitioner and planning to meet children’s individual needs.
The Child Care Diploma course will help the student to improve their knowledge and skills, meet the basic training requirements as part of childminder registration or application to be a registered childminder and undertake professional development.
Working with children is an enjoyable and satisfying vocation to follow. When you complete the Child Care Level 3 course, you could look for work in childcare or a nursery environment. You could also use this course for self improvement purposes, if you just wish to further your knowledge.
Your day-to-day activities may include:
With experience, you could become a key worker for one or more children, monitoring their progress and sharing information about their development with parents or carers.
As an experienced nursery worker you could specialise in working with children with learning difficulties, physical difficulties or mental health problems, with opportunities to progress to team leader, senior nursery worker or centre manager.
Alternatively you may wish to study towards a higher education qualification in early years or child development. This would enable you to move into management or early years teaching.

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. It is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.
You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

You must successfully complete a series of assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed and you have met the required outcomes, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by Training Qualifications UK (TQUK).
