Course Information

If you want to develop your knowledge of business law so that you can embark on a rewarding career or you are already working in a related field and want to improve your career prospects, then this is the course for you.

Business law, is the body of law that applies to the rights, relations, and conduct of persons and businesses engaged in commerce, merchandising, trade, and sales. It is often considered to be a branch of civil law and deals with issues of both private law and public law.

The Distance Learning Business Law course will help you develop a solid understanding of business law. Students will identify the principles of English Law and how the English Legal system works; discover where law comes from, the roles of different courts and the different personnel that are employed by the legal system.

On completion of this course, you will understand the different types of business structure and their benefits and become fully confident in your understanding of business law. You will also gain an understanding of how it relates to the consumer and business owners.

What can you do with Business Law?

As well as solicitors’ offices and barristers’ chambers, you could work for law courts, local authorities, estate agents or the police.

If you work for a small, local firm, you’ll develop experience in a wide range of legal matters. In larger firms you’ll usually specialise in one particular area of law.

With experience you could become a senior secretary, PA or office manager in larger firms.

With further qualifications, you could become a legal executive, paralegal or licensed conveyancer.

You could also work towards training as a solicitor or barrister.
