A Distance Learning Course is the ideal way to gain the confidence required within a certain subject without having the worry of trying to fit your studies around your everyday life.† You can complete your studies in your own time and we are on hand seven days a week to help you plan your future.

Course Description

Teaching Assistants work alongside teachers at the forefront of the classroom, assisting pupils with their learning; this can be individually or on a group basis. TAs carry out an important role within the classroom, initially identifying any learning or social issues that may arise with the pupils.

TAs are taking on increasingly important roles and special needs teaching assistants help children with a wide range of learning, physical or behavioural difficulties.

For example:

  • behavioural/social (eg difficulty making friends)
  • reading and writing (eg dyslexia)
  • understanding things
  • concentrating (eg Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • physical needs or impairments
As a Special Education Needs SEN Teaching Assistant, you will carry out a wide range of duties and this course will provide you with the knowledge to enable you to pursue a career in this field or provide you with the necessary understanding to improve your promotional prospects.

Not only does this course introduce you to specific syndromes and approaches to learning, you will also become familiar with technology used in the classroom and basic computer skills.

What can you do with SEN Teaching Assistant Level 3

You may work with a range of ages in a mainstream school or a dedicated special needs school.
