Course Description

This course is aimed at new or existing accounts users who wants to gain a knowledge of how to use the core functionality of Sage 50 Accounts & includes Sage 50 workbook software.

The Distance Learning Sage 50 Accounts stage 3 course can be studied for personal interest and development without assessment and we can provide you with a completion certificate if required. However the course covers the requirements of the Sage certified stage 3 in Sage 50 Accounts. On successful completion of the course you will gain an official Sage 50 Accounts - Stage 3 certificate.

For the Sage 50 Accounts - Stage 2 course you will cover the following content:-

  • Know how to perform a bank reconciliation
  • Understand how to manage credit control, including statements and overdue letters
  • Be able to write off bad debts and perform a VAT reclaim
  • Know how to set up the Fixed Asset Register, post depreciation journals and dispose of fixed assets
  • Understand how to post prepayments and accruals
  • Be able to produce financial reports, including the Profit & Loss report and Balance Sheet
  • Know how to set budget information and use departments for additional analysis
  • Be able to produce, check and submit a VAT Return
  • Know how to prepare for, and run the Year End routine
  • Be able to create multiple company accounts for associated companies or branches
  • Understand how to Integrate Sage 50 Accounts with Microsoft Office

Previous Knowledge Required

Students are expected to have taken Sage 50 Accounts Stages 1 and 2.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 6 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

Support

You will have dedicated Tutor Support for 6 months. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. You must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.

You will be provided with the telephone number for your dedicated Student Support Team who will be available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.

Assessment

You must successfully complete a series of assignments. Once all assignments and activities have been completed satisfactorily, you will then be awarded your certificate. Students wishing to gain the full qualification will also need to complete an online SAGE exam. The cost of this exam is included within the cost of the course.

Please note that the Sage 50 Accounts software will only work on computers which run Windows 7 or higher, therefore Sage will not run on Windows XP. Sage software will not run on any Apple Macintosh computer.

Awarding Organisation

In order to gain the official Sage qualifications, you will need to sit an online exam. Upon successful completion of this, you will gain the Sage level 3 certificate.

Alternatively, if you wish to study this course without official assessment, we can still provide you with a certificate of completion.
