A Distance Learning Course is the ideal way to gain a qualification without having the worry of trying to fit your studies around your everyday life. You can complete your studies in your own time and we are on hand seven days a week to help you plan your future.

Course Description

As a private investigator no two days will be the same. You may find one day you are assisting corporations or legal offices in fact-finding missions and another day you could be hired by an individual who suspects their partner of infidelity.

Where missing persons are concerned, the police are only able to investigate so far before they have to return to other issues. A private investigator however, can continue searching where the police have left off.

The distance learning Private Investigation Level 3 course will help you become confident in understanding the legal implications of private investigation and learn a range of surveillance techniques. You will also study the following:

  • An Introduction to Private Investigation
  • Legal Implications
  • Surveillance, Tracing and Service of Process
  • Types of Investigation
  • Due Diligence and Background Checks
  • Professional and Business Development

You must successfully complete a series of activities and assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed satisfactorily, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.

Awarding Organisation

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a level 3 NCFE certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to level 3 on The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (where level 2 and level 3 courses are similar in difficulty to GCSEs and A Levels, respectively, and where level 4 courses are slightly more challenging than an A-Level).

The training courses have been designed specifically to meet the needs of learners who prefer to study from home. The course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 3 (using Ofqual's QCF level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved. This course has been accredited under NCFE IIQ Licence by OSC which has been approved as an NCFE Investing in Quality (IIQ) centre to give formal recognition to courses.

NCFE is recognised as an Awarding Organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. These are Ofqual (the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator in England); the Welsh Government and CCEA (the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment) in Northern Ireland.
