Course Description

If you want to develop your knowledge of becoming a Personal Assistant so that you can embark on a rewarding career or you are already working in a related field and want to improve your career prospects, then this is the course for you.

A personal assistant (PA), sometimes called an executive secretary or personal/private secretary, works closely with senior management or directorial staff to provide administrative support, usually on a one-to-one basis. PAs help managers to make the best possible use of their time by dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks in the workplace.

PAs need extensive knowledge of the organisation in which they work. They need to know who key personnel are (both external and internal) and understand the organisation's aims and objectives.

Managers often rely heavily on their PA, trusting that work will be handled efficiently in their absence. Discretion and confidentiality are therefore one of the essential attributes for a successful PA.

The aim of this Distance Learning Personal Assistant course is to provide an overview of key areas of business understanding and personal skills that are required to fulfill the role of Personal Assistant.

What can you do with Personal Assistant Level 3

You could work anywhere from a small business to a large employer like the civil service or NHS. With experience, you could take on more responsibility by moving to a larger company or working for a more senior manager.

Promotion to management may also be possible.
