A Distance Learning Course is the ideal way to gain a qualification without having the worry of trying to fit your studies around your everyday life.  You can complete your studies in your own time and we are on hand seven days a week to help you plan your future.

Course Description

The Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and The Criminal Justice System course assumes prior knowledge of FASD together with the primary and secondary disabilities that can be caused by FASD. We will use only the term FASD throughout this course, but the student should also think about ARND and ARBD as being associated problems. Between these three terms there will be a range of effects including physical, mental, behavioural and learning difficulties, the majority of which will have lifelong implications to the individual.

This course covers the secondary behaviours associated with FASD which may cause the individual to be more likely to frequently break the law than someone who may be unaffected by FASD.  Assisting an individual with FASD through the court and trial procedures and understanding the requirements that need to be in place for the successful management of FASD within the court system.

The Health Care Diploma has been designed to give an opportunity for those working in a Care environment to build on their skills to progress in a job role in Health and Social Care.

Whilst working in the care sector, you have responsibilities to provide a service to your clients and to respond safely and effectively to their needs. This course will help you to develop the skills needed to do this and achieve a qualification that recognises your achievement. This Health Care Diploma is concerned with your role, as a care worker, in identifying ways of communicating on difficult, complex and sensitive issues, in a variety of settings and situations.

You will examine and analyse methods of reflecting on and developing your practice. Updating your understanding and taking action to enhance your practice are vital to meeting the ever changing requirements of individuals in your care, and the demands of a rapidly advancing health care system.
